About Dudley Lab

Dudley Lab Surplus 2000 to present: When the LMDS business faded sharply a few years ago, we started selling some of our surplus test equipment. As time went on, we purchased used electronic equipment, rebuilt it, and offered it on our surplus page. Surplus page Because the LMDS equipment products page was very dependent on Traveling Wave Tube Amplifiers (TWTA), we developed some experience working with them and have focused the used equipment side of the business there. Below is pictured some of the Equipment we have in stock.

We also build custom waveguide parts. WR-28 and WR-90 mostly. If you need a special length/shape send us a sketch for a quote.

Dudley Lab LMDS 1992 to 2000: We develops and manufactures microwave communications equipment for the LMDS, LMCS & MVDS industries and other applications in the 25 to 31 GHz frequency range, and occasionally up to 42 GHz. We built the two commercially operating LMDS television systems located in Venezuela. We have designed and manufactured many systems and sub-systems for this application, and on our products page you will see a list of some of our current products. Our customer base includes commercial LMDS/CS system operators and many companies that are testing equipment in the above mentioned frequency range. Some of these companies are not involved with television delivery systems, but find our equipment or components useful for their applications. We also have developed a digital data network (SSTx/Rx) to provide two-way wireless Internet service via the LMDS system.

In 1992, Dudley Lab built the very first 28 GHz, 49-channel transmitter for LMDS applications, used in New York, USA. Dudley Lab also built the first 28 GHz system to provide LMDS television, in Latin America, in Caracas, Venezuela. This system, Viva-Vision, has 40 channels of television programming. Later that year, we built TV-Cellular in Valencia, Venezuela, with 48 channels of television operating at 29 GHz. Both of these systems are analog FM and are providing continuous service to 5,000 subscribers. In addition to our commercial LMDS system operators, our customers have included AT&T, GTE, US-West, NYNEX, Lucent Technologies, TV TelCom, and many others worldwide.
